Before AwardSpring, we were using paper applications for our 150 scholarships. With a variety of criteria across the scholarships, this process was incredibly labor-intensive. Also, because of the greater possibility of human error, we were worried that we, as a small foundation with a small staff, could be making mistakes and, therefore, wrong award decisions. AwardSpring provides a clearinghouse for scholarship criteria which makes it simpler for us to determine to whom the scholarships should be awarded and in far less time.
Our experience was fantastic from the beginning because our sales rep was phenomenal! He was incredibly patient, talked us through all of the features of the platform, and answered all of our questions. We also experienced the same expertise, patience, and thoroughness during the SpringBoard implementation process. Our implementation manager did all of the heavy lifting, configuring all of our scholarships and scholarship criteria for us. Training during the SpringBoard process made AwardSpring easy to pick up and use, unlike some of the more cumbersome software we use. We continue to receive exceptional service from the support team - they always provide prompt and thorough responses to all of our requests. They’re not just good, they’re great!
The uncomplicated use of the platform has made our lives dramatically simpler. Applicants are excited that they can apply for scholarships prior to attending and that they can simply upload their transcripts and essays to the site.
For the first time, we’ve had international scholarship applicants, which is a further reach than we thought possible.
The review process is fabulous. It was nearly effortless to get the volunteers organized as we didn’t have to coordinate all reviewers spending 12 hours around a table in a conference room. Reviewers like being able to read and score the students’ essays from the comfort of their own homes and on mobile devices. Reviewers were more comfortable volunteering another year and we even had folks requesting to take on additional work. AwardSpring is so straightforward to use that even our less tech savvy reviewers say, “Wow! This is fun.”
There isn’t just one thing that has made us happy working with AwardSpring - there’s a list of things. AwardSpring is well worth the cost in terms of time-savings, ease of use, efficiency, and customer service.
With a small foundation budget, it was a big deal for us to take the plunge to using an online management solution, but we don't plan on ever going back to the old way. AwardSpring has streamlined our entire scholarship process from application, to review, to communicating with students, to awarding the scholarships. It has made our scholarship process more satisfying for everyone involved. AwardSpring is the best!
